Sustainability Appraisal of the Main Modifications

Representation ID: 1718

Received: 21/03/2026

Respondent: Friends of Sheepwash Local Nature Reserve

Representation Summary:

We fundamentally disagree with the Lepus Consulting methodology and conclusions in respect of MM81 SSH3, P4.4.5 "Consequently, although the policy may deliver benefits for the biodiversity
value of the canal network, there remains a likelihood of adverse effects on the SLINC,
resulting in an overall minor negative impact on biodiversity (SA Objective 3)"
Lepus ignore the fact that red list plants located outside of the slinc designation would be destroyed, as would the habitat of the small blue butterfly found on the site. This is a major negative "Be unable to be entirely mitigated;". Their assessment is unsound.
